The Little Italian Kitchen is open Wednesday - Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00!
WHY THE LITTLE ITALIAN KITCHEN IS SPECIAL?
My fondest childhood memories are of time spent in my Nane’s kitchen. The coming together of my large Italian family each Sunday was a celebration, and delicious food was the gift! My maternal grandmother, Nane, would spend all day in her kitchen preparing an absolute feast. “Manga,” my Popo would say, and we did! We ate, we laughed, we talked, and we celebrated. I sure do miss those days at Nane & Popo’s house! To my delight, The Little Italian Kitchen has rapidly grown and evolved. Just before Thanksgiving 2008, I opened the doors to the kitchen, and began selling my fresh, handmade Potica Bread, & Italian Cookies. I was gifted an increase in business over the holiday season, and decided to ring in 2009 by opening for lunch. It has been an exciting three months, and I am happy to report that business is GROWING! Please click on the What's Baking tab for a lunch menu, and more information about my gastronomical delights. I look forward to sharing my kitchen with you! After all, The Little Italian Kitchen isn’t just any kitchen. The Little Italian Kitchen is a place where dreams are born, where everything is lovingly handmade, where family is celebrated, and where Spirit speaks through me!
Now, many years later, it is those cherished family recipes that are my inspiration for The Little Italian Kitchen. You may have seen me selling my handmade Potica Bread & Italian Cookies at various Farmer’s Markets and/or Holiday Fairs the past few seasons. I thank you for supporting my local business, and helping it to grow!

WHAT'S POTICA?

Traditionally a holiday bread, Potica (pronounced Paw-teet-zah), also known as Povitica, Kolachi, or Nutbread, is Slovenian in ancestry. A sweet bread known for its exquisite spiral layers, Potica has roots in Italian-American families as well.
No, you won’t find Potica in Italy, but you will find that many Italian immigrants put Potica on the map in the United States. From Pueblo, Colorado to Northeastern, Minnesota Potica sparks delightful memories of family, tradition, and Old World goodness!
Using a recipe handed down from my Italian Grandmother, The Little Italian Kitchen’s Potica is lovingly handmade right here in Fort Collins, Colorado! Hand-rolled, the thin dough is then layered with a sweet walnut cream mixture, rolled into a spiral, and baked to perfection!
